Planning for Your First Weight Loss Appointment at the Aspen Clinic

• Call any of our 8 Aspen Clinic locations to book your appointment, or schedule a weight loss appointment online.
• Contact our staff with any questions you may have prior to your visit.
• You will receive a complimentary appointment reminder phone call and text message prior to your visit.
• Intake forms will conveniently be sent to you via text message to complete prior to your appointment. You can also set up your Patient Portal to access your results, message our team, and schedule future appointments easily.

• We recommend showing up 10 minutes prior to your appointment time.
• A friendly member of the Aspen Clinic staff will greet you when you arrive.
• We will confirm that we have received your completed intake forms or assist you in completing them.
• Expect your first visit to take 60 to 90 minutes. Plan for the time so you can feel comfortable with your new weight loss journey.

• Once you’ve filled out your paperwork, you’ll attend a brief nutrition orientation class taught by a member of the Aspen Clinic nutritional team.
• During your orientation, you will be educated and motivated on how the Aspen Clinic nutritional program works.
• Our team will offer the tips you need to be successful in your weight loss journey.

After you have been acquainted with the nutritional program, one of our knowledgeable nutritional counselors will take you back and do a full body composition assessment. This individualized session includes assessing your:

• Body Mass Index (BMI)
• Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR)
• Fat mass and fat mass %
• Water weight
• Muscle mass
• A full picture of your overall health and targeted goals based on your body's readings

• The nutritional counselor will discuss the results of your analysis with you.
• You’ll discuss where you stand health-wise at this time and what our goals for weight loss will be for you based on this standing.
• You will be given a customized calorie and meal plan with nutrient requirements designated to help you lose 1-3 lbs per week.
• If you are interested in our all-natural product line, or vitamin based injections, the nutritional counselor can then recommend products based on your personal fat, muscle, and water levels to speed up the weight loss process.
• You'll have the opportunity to ask any questions to ensure you are confident in your plan and ready to tackle the first month of your weight loss journey.

After meeting with the nutritionist, you’ll individually meet with one of our physicians. The doctor will:

• Perform a basic checkup
• Review your medical history with you privately in order to determine if medication is appropriate for assisting your weight loss journey, then determine which appetite suppressant or GLP-1 medication would work best for you.
• You may ask the doctor any questions or concerns you have regarding the medical weight loss aspects of the program.
• If you opt for the non-medical program, you will not need to meet with the physician for medication.

• After meeting with the physician, you will revisit the front counter for check out - we accept cash, all major debit/credit cards, FSA/HSA cards, and Care Credit as methods of payment.
• Our staff will give you a prescription discount card for you to take with you to the pharmacy to save money on your oral medications.
• Based on your medication, they will also direct you to the pharmacy with the best cost for that particular medication. You can also view prescription prices online.
• If you are prescribed an injectable medication, your prescription will be sent to the pharmacy by the Aspen Clinic staff for you and will ship directly to your home.
• Our staff can answer any final questions you have and assist you in purchasing any additional weight loss supplements or other products you need.
• We will pre-book your next monthly visit and wish you good luck!
• A member of our staff will reach out to you in one week to check in and see how the program is going for you so far.

The Aspen Clinic team will be available to answer questions and offer support via phone or messaging through the patient portal throughout your weight loss journey.

However, the best results are seen in patients who come in regularly for weigh-ins and additional nutritional counseling, which are available at no cost and provide the accountability needed for successful weight loss.
